We plan your FES hybrid retractable landing gear
We calculate a landing gear to fit the actual fuselage geometry
Plan now
- Lay the fuselage on a flat surface. Place any round object (e.g. a bottle, spay can) underneath where the wheel should normally be on the model. The stern must rest on the stern skid and the fuselage must be completely off the ground at the front due to the object underneath. Note the diameter of the object as dimension D1.

- Das Maß H1 einmessen, während der Rumpf mit D1 unterlegt ist.
- Die Maße L1 und L2 einmessen
- Enter the desired length of the propeller including the center piece/spinner. We absolutely need the length from the middle of the motor shaft to the end of the propeller blade (half the turning circle of the propeller). This measure is used to determine the ground clearance.
Important instructions
It is requested that the measurement be carried out accurately and according to the instructions. Errors in the transmitted dimensions mean that the calculation is wrong and the chassis will not have the required ground clearance afterwards. We do not guarantee this! For a model with existing landing gear, please DO NOT use the wheel of the landing gear as D1, but place a round object under the fuselage as described. Please retract an existing landing gear and ignore it during the measurement. If a propeller has not yet been determined, we will calculate all possible propeller sizes for you and inform you of the achievable ground clearance. A rough guide of the desired propeller is helpful, but not absolutely necessary. The other details such as manufacturer etc. help us to create a database with which we can answer incoming inquiries in a targeted manner.
We urge you to take proper account of the propeller's flight circle. This is made up of both sheets plus the intended middle piece/spinner. Many propeller manufacturers explicitly state the length of the center piece required to arrive at the propeller diameter. There is no generally applicable norm and point of view here, so thinking along is required 🙂
