Battery slide in a variable size as a kit

The battery slide is supplied as a self-assembly kit.

It can slide in a width of 44mm to 92mm be built. The length of the slide can also be adjusted to the battery.

During construction, the supplied dowel pins and a pegging system are used to assemble the parts at right angles and in a geometrically repeatable manner. This then results in very precisely fitting brackets and slides with a few 1/10th of a mm play.

This allows batteries from 2S to 10S (as a 10S block or 2 x 5S next to each other) to be attached to a slide. The slide itself is pushed onto a bracket which is firmly glued to the model. The bracket has four feet and two side wings (all extra long). Depending on the planned installation position, these 6 parts are shortened accordingly and glued to the fuselage wall.

The slide is positively held on the bracket, this is realized by 4 retaining lugs and guides on the right/left of the slide. When the positive locking is achieved by pushing in the chute, a spring-loaded quick-release fastener snaps into place. The slide is thus secured.

It can be inserted and removed with one hand, which is very convenient if it is mounted very far forward in the nose of the fuselage. The annoying handling of Velcro strips is no longer necessary here. The battery can be removed for changing or charging in seconds and pushed back into the holder just as quickly. The quick-release fastener can be attached to the right or left for right/left-handers.

The battery can be attached to the slide using self-adhesive Velcro tape on the battery and the slide. In addition, a velcro strap is pulled around the battery and the slide. The basic idea of ​​ours was that each battery has its own slide and that both remain together permanently. The battery slides can be purchased separately as a component, so that each battery has its own slide. This can also remain on the battery during the charging process.

Alternatively, the batteries can also be attached to the slide with just two straps.
