EZFW SLIM-LINE scale 1:4.5 with 76 mm wheel

Since only a few landing gear units are available on the market for this scale, we took on the task and designed a light yet sturdy retractable landing gear.

The side plates of the scale 1:4.5 landing gear with 76 mm wheel are made of 4.0 mm GRP (dyed black). All milled edges are finished, so the parts pose no risk of injury and feel very pleasant to the touch.

The wheel legs are made of 4.0 mm high-strength aluminium (AW 7075 T6) and mirror-polished.

New: the mounting of the landing gear drive servo. It sits at the back between the side plates, so no servo lugs are needed on the side. A 10 mm wing servo with 10 kg/cm torque at HV is used. The threads for M2 screws are brass inserts pressed into the GRP.
This design makes the landing gear very narrow, so it fits comfortably in any scale 1:4.0 fuselage. Hence the name SLIM-LINE.

Weight-optimised and attractive design thanks to CNC-machined geometry. Due to the mechanical design, the wheel is firmly locked in both the extended and retracted positions, so centrifugal forces cannot extend the wheel, e.g. during a loop.

- the landing gear is mounted in the glider either rigidly between two formers or at the rear together with the rubber damper mounting
- at the front, the landing gear is locked into the main former with a cross clip
- the installation height of the EZFW in the fuselage is variable
- the moving parts run in brass bushings

The basic equipment consists of:
- the two side plates in 4.0 mm GRP / black
- the two swing arms in 4.0 mm high-strength aluminium
- the required spacer bolts
- servo mount for a 10 mm wing servo with M2 T-nuts + screws
- the swivel mechanism incl. drive lever
- the required stainless steel screws
- 1 foam rubber wheel 76 mm with aluminium rim, 6.0 mm axle and ball bearings

All landing gear units are modular and can be configured individually.

The following extras for the landing gear are available as options:

• Wheel cover
• Wheel guard
• Wheel shoe brake (the servo operating the brake is moved forward of the main former and pulls the brake via a cord)
• Linkage with two M3 clevises and a CFRP tube over the M3 threaded rod
• Rear rubber damper mounting

Weight: in standard configuration the landing gear weighs 276 grams, fully equipped 335 grams. We deliberately accepted a few extra grams in favour of a very sturdy and durable landing gear.
