When the landing gear extends, the wheel guard pushes open the gear doors on the underside of the fuselage.

Without the wheel guard there is a risk that the wheel damages the doors as they open. The wheel guard is laser-cut from 1.25 mm stainless steel and barrel-polished.

It is fastened with four M3 stainless steel screws. The wheel does not need to be removed for installation, because the guard is mounted separately in front of the wheel axle. A support strut is also integrated into the wheel guard, which prevents deformation, e.g. by tall grass.
