Our disc brake for WEMO landing gear is designed as a retrofit kit. As a customer, you can fit the brake to an existing WEMO-EZFW landing gear, or have us fit the brake at the factory when you buy a new landing gear.

All parts required for the retrofit are supplied.

The brake shown here in the large version is suitable for tyre sizes 153 mm 165 mm 178 mm.

ONLY FEMA wheels can be fitted with the disc brake. Tyre sizes of 100 mm and smaller are not suitable for retrofitting!

Features of the disc brake:

• Brake pads are milled from brake lining material and bonded and sintered to the backing plates (the brake pads can be ordered as spare parts)
  
• made of AW 7075 T6 (high-strength aluminium) and mirror-polished
• Brake disc made of 2.0 mm stainless steel
• Drilling template with hardened drill bushings for positioning during installation
• Drivers for the disc and the matching screws (specially designed for screwing into glass-fibre reinforced plastic)
• 3 drill bits for the holes required during installation
• Spacers for positioning the disc between the wheel legs
• M3 clevis with crimp sleeve
• Brass cable stop for screwing to the landing gear

Advantages of the disc brake:

• Extremely good braking performance
  
• very fine control of braking force
• brakes in all weather conditions – a big advantage especially on wet/damp runways
• the brake pad can be readjusted as it wears (via an easily accessible external grub screw)
• no more tyre wear caused by the wheel shoe brake
