Together with Matthias Kerstan of BK-Modelltechnik, we have developed a new tow release with some great features.

The tow release is particularly suitable for models with an FES motor, since the motor prevents the tow line from being routed through the nose of the fuselage.

In addition, a bungee hook can be inserted into the tow release. This allows the model to be bungee-launched over the slope edge when flying in the mountains.

The release can be installed anywhere in the fuselage; the user must decide on the installation position. We do not specify a position and do not give any recommendations on this!

NEW: the bungee insert can be reliably secured against loss with a spring clip (e.g. if the switch is triggered accidentally during a bungee launch).

• made of high-strength aluminium AW 7075
• Brass body with spring and 3.0 mm stainless steel pin
• Miniature Bowden cable with steel liner and 1.3 mm steel cable / galvanised
• Servo mount made of black GRP (with cable stop for the Bowden cable) for 15 mm standard servo
• 4.0 mm wooden board for gluing into the fuselage and mounting the servo mount
• 2 wooden adhesive mounts for routing the Bowden cable
• M2 clevis (the steel cable is soldered directly into the clevis)
• M3 screws and lock nuts for installing the servo
• very low installation height, so that e.g. the batteries can be installed above the release

Thanks to the Bowden cable, the servo operating the pin can be mounted anywhere in the fuselage. This opens up completely new possibilities.

The bungee hook has an angled 5.0 mm stainless steel pin, which is pinned and bonded to the insert. Thanks to its oval shape, the insert can be inserted very easily into the tow release from below. It works first time, promised. It is then locked by the pin.

The oval shape also makes it very easy to position the loop when hooking in the tow line. The loop is effectively guided and cannot twist. This also works first time, promised too. It is then locked by the pin.

CAUTION: Please note that the locking pin is spring-loaded. This means that after releasing the tow line, the button / switch on the transmitter must be returned to its initial position, otherwise the servo will constantly work against the spring force!

 Length of the Bowden cable / steel cable = 500 mm / 550 mm (other lengths can be made if required)
