The cable guide is designed for a standard servo (20 mm) in such a way that it can be screwed to the rear bulkhead. For this purpose, three M3 screws are supplied, which are screwed through the bulkhead into the drive-in nuts of the mounting plate.
The swivel unit with the servo can be tilted forwards or backwards using a central cylinder head screw (M4). Thus, the ropes that lead to the rudder can be tightened or loosened very easily. The annoying and fiddly adjustment via solder sleeves and fork heads is no longer necessary. Once the ropes have been correctly installed, slack or too tight ropes can be reacted to in seconds.
The bracket can be installed completely hidden behind the bulkhead. To do this, an elongated hole must be made in the bulkhead, through which you have access to the cylinder head screw. A drilling template can be downloaded here as a PDF and printed out. This is then cut out and glued to the frame. Now you can simply drill the holes in the frame from the front.
The frames we deliver already have the holes for this.
A spring keeps the swiveling unit under tension, which means that the cylinder head screw cannot loosen or move. The setting is retained in this way.
The adjustment range is 10 mm, so when the swivel unit is in the zero position, it can be adjusted 5 mm forwards and 5 mm backwards. This can be influenced by the adjustment of the ropes.
In the Version with sliding carriage the plate can be unlocked with the servo via a spring pin. Now you can push the slide and servo backwards by 25 and then pull the rudder and cables backwards and out. This considerably simplifies the accessibility of the often concealed fork heads.
When building the model, the fork heads are then attached and the servo is pulled back. The spring-loaded pin is hooked into a catch and is mechanically actuated. This automatically snaps into position and the cable tension is in the same condition as it was before the rudder was dismantled.
The adjustability of the ropes is still given.
